Can you live without an advisor? Most likely, yes. But why all the leaders of all times had one? There are many questions that have no definite answer. I think that there is a simple and understandable criterion of evaluating work of consultants. That is the CRITERION of USEFULLNESS. Did the cost, balance and effectiveness of organization improve after cooperating with a consultant? Have the financial indicators become better? Did the investment attraction increase? Is the management functioning better? Has the risk management become more controllable and professional? Has the Head really understood why, where, with whom and how to move to achieve set goals? Did he find a point of support? Has the spirit of the company strengthened? Are there new management and financial tools in the arsenal of top-management? Did the shareholders feel visible return from investing in a consulting project? If yes than the input of time, energy and money proved to be useful! What defines the possibility of achieving success of a consulting project? Not much: trust, conviction, persistence and professionalism.
