    participated in the Invest in Russia seminar organized by the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in Canada together with the Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association (CERBA) Ottawa Chapter.

    The three key presenters – Senior Trade Commissioner Mr. Konstantin Trofimov, CEO, Titanium Valley Mr.Artemiy Kyzlasov, and the Head of Investor Relations Departnment, Titanium Valley spoke about the investment climate in Russia in general, and Sverdlovsk Oblast in particular, as well as discussed the opportunities that the Special Economic Zone «Titanium Valley» offers to foreign companies & investors.

SMOLENTSEV, and Partner at IC “SMOLENTSEV & Partners”, Regional Coordinator CERBA-Ottawa Anastasia Smolentseva participated in “The Russian Elections and their Aftermath: A Conversation with Piotr Dutkiewicz” event.

Dr. Piotr Dutkiewicz is a professor of Political Science, Director of the Centre for Governance and Public Management at Carleton University, and a Member of CERBA’s National Board. He presented his analysis of what was discussed during the Valdai Club meeting held in November 2011 with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and candidate for presidency Vladimir Putin, and what this might mean for Russia as well as its business & political partners in 2012 and beyond.

The event gathered representatives from the Embassy of Kazakhstan, Embassy of Azerbaijan, Export Development Canada (EDC), Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, Railway Association of Canada, representatives of the Canadian businesses such as Nordion, and many more, as well as distinguished scholars.

The event was organized by the Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association – Ottawa (CERBA-Ottawa) in collaboration with the Centre for European Studies at Carleton University.

At the meeting, concrete steps have been discussed for cooperation and development between Canada and Ukraine in industries such as agriculture, aerospace, biotechnologies, energy, and education.

IC “SMOLENTSEV & Partners” and Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association (CERBA) have come to an agreement in the Memorandum of Understanding.

The goal of such memorandum – to organize CERBA's activity in the Canada's capital city of Ottawa. 

Anastasia Smolentseva, Partner, IC “SMOLENTSEV & Partners” is the Regional Coordinator of CERBA – Ottawa.

The Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association has a membership base of over 200 corporations and individuals in a wide range of sectors. As an association, CERBA provides an extensive network of contacts with frequent networking events, informative seminars on pertinent topics in the Eurasian market for Canadian companies, an annual National Conference, a quarterly printed Newsletter, committees of the Canada-Russia Business Council (CRBC), access to annual trade missions, as well as market intelligence, advocacy on government policy, and active, Canada-focused sector committees.

Mandate of CERBA:

  • Enhance and support trade, investment and good relations between the countries of Canada, Eurasia and Russia
  • Advocate and lobby on behalf of CERBA members to the Canadian and Eurasian/Russian national governments on issues of importance to members
  • Serve as a forum for the exchange of information and views among business and government representatives in the countries of Canada, Eurasia and Russia
  • Facilitate business development through the provision of services including business assistance, dissemination of information and networking
  • Partner with relevant organizations in furthering the common interest of members and involved community
